“MARYAM” a magazine has been launched for the Waqfe Nau girls from London. This periodical “Maryam” (in English “Mary”) has an added significance of being the first magazine to be launched at central level for the Waqfe Nau (Life Devotee) girls. It is essential for the Waqfe Nau girls to remember the history of Waqf. It was a woman who first dedicated her child before its birth and that Waqfe Nau was also a woman called “Maryam” (in English ‘Mary’).

Maryam (Mary)’s parents who had dedicated her did her Tarbiyyat (Divine Education) with such excellence that she in turn understanding the significance of her status fulfilled the demands of the Waqf (Life Devotee) in a manner whereby the God of the Heavens mentioned her in the Holy Quran as a goddess of chastity and honour and a woman who spent her life with absolute sanctity and piety. Her purity and Taqwa (righteousness) has thus become an everlasting example.

In accordance with the same spirit, parents of Waqifat-e-Nau dedicated their children before they were born and as these children grow they have re-affirmed their pledge of loyalty with equal sincerity. This status of their Waqf and the honour that gores with it is not a trivial matter, but this reverence can only become their pride and joy if they fulfil the demands of the Waqf and live their life with absolute loyalty to the Institute of Khilafat-e-Ahmadiyya. When we read the entire history about other religions and civilisations, we will find that it is only Islam that has bestowed dignity and grandeur upon a woman while others show severe lack of it.

It has always been a woman’s pride and joy to be fully dedicated and a complete Muslim both in the past and even now in the present day. In the early days of Islam women delivered commendable and admirable feats both in knowledge and its application. A woman has never shown lesser abilities than men in any field whether it was war, prayer or resolute worship, agriculture or delivering Dars of teaching, business or medicine and surgery any intellectual or practical platform.

It was these women who while adorned with magnificent jewels of complete Islamic teachings and remaining within the limits of pardah (Islamic Veil), addressed gatherings of thousands of men and delivered Dars as well to them. And when they entered the domain of trust and Taqwa (righteousness), devotion and rigorous religious dedications they excelled equally in them gaining Allah’s nearness. It was the Muslim women who carried forward the flag of knowledge and its application during the preliminary era of Islam and it is the Ahamdi women now who have kept the same banner aloft during the secondary period of Islam, and Ahmadiyyat - the true Islam. Likewise the Waqifat-e-Nau girls, are expected to keep the flag of knowledge and its application flying higher than any other standard. You must not let your heart and sight come under the influence of West’s fake liberties and comforts since lurking behind them are frightful and petrifying scenes that take possession of bodies and souls and bind them in such confinements that humanity is drawn into an abyss from where both spiritual and worldly aspects are buried forever. It therefore becomes more significant that you do not let the world’s new inventions and their attractions dominate your lifestyle. Instead it is mandatory for you to take forward the religious objectives of Hadhrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (as), the Promised Messiah and Mahdi and to always be ready to serve your religious obligations. For this you need to march onwards with sky as your limit with your minds, knowledge and its applications rising to reach the celestial heights. If in actual fact you do wish to acquire these eminent positions, you need to imbue your hearts from the Eternal Light that shines from the writings of the Imam of the Latter Days, The Promised Messiah (as). Let the directives and advice of the Khalifa-e-Ahmadiyya become the beacon for you as these teachings will make you the recipients of an eternal life. These are the addresses that breathe life into the lifeless hearts and lift one from depleted state to the elevation of the heavens where even the angles take pride to converse with them. Thus you should always bear in mind that this life-giving nectar can only be obtained from Ahmadiyyat - the true Islam. If you are able to get to the depths of this point and mould yourself accordingly to accomplish the objectives of being Waqfe Nau and spend your lives in the light of these propositions, you will certainly succeed in gaining the best of the both worlds.

Hadhrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (as), the Promised Messiah has said:
“I tell you truthfully that those attaining life from the hands of the Masih have died, but whosoever drinks from the goblet that has been given to me, will never die. If there is anyone else who can speak the same way as my life-giving talks and say all those words of wisdom that I utter from my mouth, let it be known that I am not from Allah Almighty. But if this wisdom and knowledge which is the life giving water for the dead in hearts, is not available from another source you have no excuse for the crime of your denial of the Fountainhead that was opened in the heavens.” (Azala Auham, Roohani Khazain Vol.3 P.104)
He further said:
“Anyone who wishes that we love him and our humble and passionate prayers for him reach the heavens, he has to convince us of his ability to be servant of the faith (deen).” (Malfoozat Vol.1 P.311)
May Allah Almighty give Waqifat-e-Nau these abilities and enable them to serve the faith in all its intensity with their heart and soul…. (Ameen!)
